Fantastic historic hotel. Superb gardens and walks. Good food, very good entertainment, lovely clean and modern rooms in New building, although quite a walk to theatre and restaurants.

Booked a Spa day for my 60th. What a disappointment. Half the spa is closed, in need of renovation which I was not made aware of. Mix up with my booking which resulted in a drive there for nothing as the pool was closed. Had a response from the complaint I raised offering the use of the facilities but why would I drive for miles for a swim even if the pool has been repaired! 2 stars for the polite staff but don't waste your money.

Beautiful building steeped in history. Lovely grounds. Unfortunately we had trouble with our room No 804 historic room lovely however the en suite stank of drainage. Which the staff maintainance and reception knew about. We asked for a change of room so called upgrade, 815 only to find extractor did not work and was told to run the hot tap for 10mins before we need it. The whole place was cold through lack of heating on. Apart from that nice.

The spa is very good, bubble pool a little on the cold side, but we still indulged ourselves. The spa reception staff perhaps could do with training in friendliness and making clients feel welcome, but overall a good experience

We went to the spa as a special treat, unfortunately it was not what we expected. As others has reported the pool and hydro pool where extremely cold, the hydro which where especially looking forward to was to cold to use at all, and other spa users where also complaining about this. We then went for our treatments which included a back massage, again the room was cold to the point where the massage could not be enjoyed. The afternoon tea was enjoyable but when we leaving the complex we where intercept by a staff member in front of other guests and accused of not paying which we had, this was extremely embarrassing and humiliating. I have raised these issues with customer services but apparently they do not view them as a relevant complaint. I consider the spa offers a poor experience and poor customer service

Great hotel, no kids allowed! Fabulous rooms good food & entertainment. Pity the spa is no longer open, it still has a swimming pool & a sauna/steam room but that's it, such a shame.

Had a great 4 night stay at Thoresby Hall Hotel Spa. The entertainment staff put on two excellent shows. Along with the other entertainment. Enjoyed the complete experience. Young "Poppy" in the Restaurant gave us excellent service. We'll done all the staff.
