We rented with Thomlinsons for 2 years and it was overall a very pleasant experience. Repairs were acted upon swiftly. Once our tenancy ended our deposit was paid back quite fast so thats always a bonus. The only reason I’ve knocked a star off this is because some staff members on occasion have been particularly rude, and poor with email communications. This made the office feel quite unapproachable at times and what were simple queries, we were sometimes made to feel like we were an annoyance.

The letting service provided from a landlords perspective is subpar. I have used numerous letting services from numerous estate agents all over the country for the past 16 years and Tomlinsons has been, by far, the worst experience. There is not much more I can add that isn’t already explained in the other negative reviews. However, particularly rude staff, threats of withholding money, poor inventories both at check in for tenants and check out, multiple occasions of not paying me as a landlord and having to chase up my own money (on one occasion having to provide multiple bank statements to prove they had not paid me), poor advice on multiple occasions, poor communication (bar a few members of staff) and adding services (rent guarantee insurance) to my account without even a phone call to discuss. I won’t comment on their other services, but if you are a landlord looking for a letting agent, please look elsewhere.
