    Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience of this restaurant. We ordered a takeaway, were told it would be 45 minutes; an hour and a half later, still no takeaway, and the guy actually laughed at my partner when we called to follow up. We ended up having to cancel it and order from elsewhere (the lovely Saka Maka down the road).

    The best Sri Lankan food I’ve had in London. Have tried 5-6 Sri Lankan restaurants since visiting South India and Sri Lanka and Thiru’s was definitely my favourite. Good prices, portion sizes and server beer. Would absolutely recommend.

    If you like authentic, proper spicy, home made Indian/SriLankan food then this place is for you. "Restaurant" sounds a bit grand - it's more of a nice, traditional cafe. There is an excellent range of starters, devilled dishes, kothu dishes, idiyappa/pittu kothu, dosai, south Indian style curry, veg/meat curry, biryani and more. I shared an aubergine curry, mutton curry, plain rice and two mutton roll, to eat in. The curries had a good, deep, rich flavour and the mutton curry was extra spicy (a slow burner that creeps up on you, making your lips and tongue burn a bit and your nose run 😃, but in a good way). It was also spotlessly clean and displaying a 4* hygiene rating on the door, which is very important.
