Eurgh. No choice but to remain a patient at this surgery because we are out of catchment from any others and most a poorly reviewed in the area. Having come from a fantastic GP practise in Thaxted, this was a rough fall from grace. Most of the time the phone just rings and rings. Occasionally, it is answered and a polite receptionist helps. I have had a good experience with one GP and one nurse so far but mostly I avoid having to contact this GP surgery because it is such an ordeal to get through to someone, at any time of day. I have the feeling the surgery lacks effective operations management; I overheard an elderly patient say they had to walk there to try to get an appointment in person because they couldn't get through on the phone. The receptionist advised it was the best way to get seen - that is unacceptable. I wish the surgery could improve the appointment system. I left a message to book vaccinations for my baby and I haven't received a call back yet. The online booking system doesn't allow for all types of appointments. We shall keep persevering 😣

This is the 4th or 5th time I have been left without my medication!! I was told by The Pharmacy that there was an issue with my contraception pill at the time of ordering my medication. I contacted the GP reception and she booked me in for a medical review about a week ago. All sorted or so I thought. Go to get my medication on Saturday from The Village Pharmacy who inform me there's an issue with some other medication I ordered and that The GP Surgery have not issued a prescription and they have no idea why and I am left without my meds AGAIN!!! Having to take time off of work on a Monday to try to get through to a human being to find out once again what the issue is..beyond exasperated and the most ironic thing about it is stress is a trigger and can bring on an attack which is why I need my meds. Why is issuing medication such an issue? I've no idea because I can't get through to The Surgery..aaagghhh 21.4.23 Same thing has happened again. I have the medical review and was told my prescription would be ready to collect. I have phoned the pharmacy and the medication is not there. I am having a knee operation on Monday and am no longer mobile. Can The Practice Manager please call me and let me know how I can go about collection my mini pill. I've actually lost count of the amount of times this has happened now... J. GENTLE

I understand that surgery's are busy at the moment but it took me 270 times to contact the doctor surgery and told me they had no appointments.. Then when I phoned a couple of days I asked if I could start my antibiotics and the lady on the phone said your 21 I think you can answer that question for yourself which I thought was really rude.

If you think this surgery isn't doing a great job try going to a surgery in a different area where its much MUCH worse. I myself feel privileged to have Writtle Surgery just down the road. They are so flexible and helpful and I'm grateful.
