Beer was on the turn, I ordered a glass of champagne & only got half a glass, but still charged the full money (I’m guessing the staff couldn’t be bothered to open another bottle to top it up to the correct measure). Shared a Camembert to start which was fine but way too pricy at £19.50. Had this in many other pubs sub £15. Our main courses were utterly terrible. Order a dirty dog which was inedible & grilled chicken on cous cous. The cous cous was oily, the broccoli tasted burnt. My four year old son wanted vanilla ice cream & even that tasted awful & he couldn’t eat it. Staff didn’t check in at all to see if everything was ok or not & couldn’t be bothered to clear our table of empty glasses, yet the establishment want to charge you top money & the service is far from satisfactory. In general an appalling meal, appalling experience. Would never go back & never recommend.

First visit last night and booked to go again before we left. Beautiful country pub which I can imagine would be great in winter with a log fire going and summer with the amazing outside tables. You have to see them to understand. Service was friendly and relaxed with exactly the right balance of being attentive but not rushed. Head chef Dave and his team are at the top of their game. Starters of ham hock terrine and chicken liver parfait looked beautiful and tasted great. Mains of skate wing and goan curry were out of this world. Clever use of local suppliers, imagination and a whole lot of skill mean the kitchen are sending out really great food. Prices are spot on as well. Can't wait to come back or our Sunday roast.
