Ran out of real ale and the rooms are not cleaned or maintained. Most items on the menu weren't available. I will not be going back but if you must stay there eat at the other pub the White Horse where you will find great food , drink and a warm welcome.

We came as a group to enjoy staying a Shepherd Neame pub and enjoy this regional ale. Sadly that was not to be on the first night there was no draught bitter on the second no draught beer at all. There were so many things off the menu we resorted to asking what they did have. One day none of us could get the breakfast we wanted. Even the full english missed the sausage but this wasn't mentioned till I complained. The room was dirty & not cleaned properly. The mattress was awful and with no sound insulation & creaking floors we could not get a good nights sleep. The bathroom was tiny & in a very poor state with a broken towel rail & a very rusty radiator. The room radiator thermostatic valve didn't work it was either on or off. Very worringly staff took my house keys from the room & didn't tell or ask me. After a frantic search I asked the manager if anyone had found some keys. His response was that a previous guest had left some keys so they took mine thinking they were the missing keys. It could be just extremely bad practice but I have changed locks & alarm code at home. It is such a shame as the village is lovely & the locals very welcoming. This place could be a winner if managed correctly. There isn't much choice of other hotels there but if you do stay in the Woolpack walk up the hill & eat & drink at the White Horse. They had no shortages & great real ale. It was from Green King my local brewery so we never did get to drink Shepherd Neame.

Rooms: Massive double beds are nice but my gosh the single bed I had was dreadful, I could feel every single spring in the bed Food & drinks: When we went for breakfast, and I asked for the vegan breakfast, I got some avakado which I didn't see on the list and no spinach, not sure what an ogg was but that wasn't there either. Second morning, I got the spinach, but no toast
