Other than standing at the counter waiting to be served while there were 4 or 5 staff standing there chatting so i had to wait for them to finish there conversation while I was stood there looking at them. Once the lady eventually came to the till she was very pleasant. Lovely log fire 🔥 Parking: Free parking for Blue badge users.

Superb food & drinks, lovely log burner for colder days which they’d just put on when we were there. It’s next to the car park, toilets just around the corner which were clean. No dogs allowed in the cafe but they do provide bowls of water. We just popped ours in the boot after our lovely hours walk. Cafe was quiet when we went end Jan so we had the place to ourselves lol. The ladies serving were very friendly.

We walked to the cafe from the South car park today. When we got there we were told the wait for food would be 20 minutes. I thought that rather a long time but less than walking back to the car, so agreed. After 40 minutes I asked if there was any danger that we might get our food and was told that our food was next. It still took a further 10 minutes. When it arrived the soup was barely warm and resembled wallpaper paste in both substance and, probably taste (it might have stuck well to boot). The only plus-point, and the reason for the sole star, is that they refunded some of the cost when my wife complained. It was a truly dreadful experience.

Nice food, ridiculous though that they operate with full covid measures, not allowed in, its like they might catch something from us. Will not return whilst they still operate like this. Management get over covid, time to move on.
