As a volunteer I might be biased, but I always find the shelter to feel welcoming, safe and comfortable, and have helped overnight many times without a problem, and I urge others to do the same. I am very happy that such a place exists for those in our town who have fallen on hard times. I am told by some of the guests that it is a world away from some other shelters around the country (of which there are far too few at any rate for the growing number of homeless). I think the shelter does a great job on a shoestring budget of mostly donations (a budget which is about what the council would pay for a single manager). Long may it continue.
