Is the shop still open? I've heard amazing reviews from my friends & would love to come to see George but I'm not local so have been calling for the last few weeks to make sure he's going to be open before I come but no one answers 😣

George has created a wonderful hub of health. He is very helpful and responsive to customer suggestions. We must support this shop; it supports us. But the landlord ( a church organisation ! ) is charging extortionate rents

A completely unassuming little shop full of wonders. Found it on google maps, walked past it a couple of times as it looks a bit like a hardware shop! Once inside I found a charming traditional grocer’s style shop with a very helpful local shopkeeper at the central counter

As a child I was a frequent visitor of this shop, until my mother decided to boycott it about 20 years ago, after claiming that she saw the owner allegedly altering the expiry dates on various goods. Now as an adult and since the regeneration of Well Street Market, I have gone in there a few times, until a peculiar incident recently, in which the owner - who was standing in the doorway - decided to mutter profanities under his breath towards my sleeping infant, while I was using the cashpoint next door. Very odd indeed. In any case, I won't be going in there again.

A cool little shop with an outstanding range of health, natural, whole and organic foods and eco/green products. The products are literally packed in to the ceiling and because this it's sometimes a little messy in there hard to find things, however the staff are always cheery and very helpful. The prices are perhaps slightly higher than a larger health food shop, but a great shop nonetheless.

Use it or lose it. George is a hero of the community, seems to never take a day off in order to provide for the local area. He's kind, friendly, knowledgeable about his stock - the usual health food store and more, and has somehow managed to keep going despite being stitched up very badly by his landlord (alarmingly a Church I think). If ever there was a support the small/local retailer situation to help him survive this is it: get to know George, get your eco cleaning products refilled here, recycle your Brita water filters/cartridges, enjoy!

I just love this shop and long may it thrive on Well Street. I often buy health and eco products here and the proprietor George is always helpful and full of knowledge about the wide range of offerings he has to share. He is also incredibly supportive of the local community, and residents value him greatly. Pop in and check out the wonderful foods and also soaps, hair care products and my absolute winning calendula face mosturing cream that I buy all the time!
