  The assistant listened closely to my previous dress shop experiences and preference and managed to find several dresses which I couldn't choose between. Each dress had it's only style and wow factor and it was a good opportunity to really think about what type of look I am going for on my wedding day. I can't wait for the dress to arrive! :)

  Arrived to see if I could book an appointment, 2 people were sitting in the window either staff or customers, the door was locked, there was no sign at all to give any information ie "by appointment only" or "staff break" , no one was at the service desk. The phone rang to the answerphone, which then says to book an appointment via the website or contact them via facebook (which when you try says they don't always check it) or instagram. I didn't leave a name on my answerphone message in the end as I was not confident they would call back and by this point knew I would not buy from them. They did call back, but said 'by appointment only' and the door is locked 'for the privacy of the bride'. There is another shop nearby that offers free looks at dresses, unlocked doors you can just walk in and champagne on your appointment, which you can book in person while visiting. If I ever had an issue or worry I would be faced with; being locked in a shop to try on a dress to begin with (no thanks!), then a company who's phone rings to answerphone who's message points you to a facebook page which may not be answered and a website again void of a person to speak to. (Yes, they might pick up the phone next time but in the event they don't... the shop is locked! If there was an issue I want to be able to walk in - not rely on somone answering phone or emails.) Considering the price of dresses now, this is shocking customer service, I would not buy from this company due to the communication methods above.

  Thank you Nicola! My experience was wonderful from start to finish. When I arrived there was a cute sign on the door with my name, which was a lovely touch. I was very short on time to find a dress and this was the second shop I went to. I had also accidentally put the wrong year on my booking and Nicola was great about it. I came prepared with photos from their website, expecting I wouldn’t be able to get any of them in time but hopeful due to their ability to check live stock. After showing Nicola, she pointed them out to me in the store and checked if they’d be available in my limited time frame. She also encouraged me to look around (their beautiful selection of dresses) for anything else I may like to try and she’d check those too. This was very different to the first store where I did not even get to have a look at the dresses. I felt very comfortable in this store and with Nicola compared to the previous one I had been to in Hitchin. I was able to get into and out of the dresses by myself. I didn’t feel rushed through them or pressured to pick one. I was even able to try the same ones on multiple times to work out which one I liked more. I really appreciated Nicola’s input, especially when it came to the colours of the dresses and which suited my skin tone best. When I had made my decision, Nicola took my measurements to see if we could get a size closest to mine. After we bought my dress I was given an adorable gift bag with some cute goodies in. Nicola kept me updated with text messages which was great for my anxiety and provided details for seamstresses. To top off an already amazing experience and customer service, she delivered my dress to me the day it came in! I cannot thank you enough Nicola, or recommend this place enough. Thank you very much!

  We went to this shop with our daughter last week. Shopping for your wedding dress should be an exciting and very special experience. Sadly ours wasn’t good and evoked all the wrong emotions. I have removed my more detailed review because it sparked a ping pong of comments between the shop and myself which I felt was not helpful. Our experience mirrored that of the number of other people who had a negative experience in this shop. I’ll leave it there.

  An incredible, intimate boutique where you feel totally comfortable! Nicola is just a DREAM and has lots of beautiful dresses to choose from! ❤️ I know from personal experience and have always recommended her and The White Wardrobe!

  There was a nice variety of dresses at the white wardrobe. I didn’t find the dress of my dreams but even if I had done, I wouldn’t have bought it from her. The assistant (who didn’t introduce herself) was abrasive throughout to myself and my guests. She told me I was looking too early and that being there was pointless. I was told certain styles wouldn’t suit me and not to try them on. When she warmed up a bit she pushed me for immediate decisions and dominated the conversation. I didn’t feel that she took me seriously as a customer, so I will happily return to Morgan Davies to continue my search. I think the white wardrobe should remember that wedding dress shopping is an experience, and people are more likely spend their money when they feel they have been taken seriously and feel relaxed and welcome.

  After a bad experience at another shop, Nicola and the girls were so helpful and made the appointment stress-free and exciting! Lovely selection of dresses and I found the one, collection and trying it on has been really easy. Can’t wait to wear it! X

  I had such a wonderful and relaxing experience at The White Wardrobe and can’t thank the ladies enough. From the little detail of my name on the door when we arrived to the knowledge and support the ladies shared about dresses, shapes, materials and everything. I had been to try dresses on before at another shop and I felt so uncomfortable and not listened to that I just didn’t enjoy the experience or that part of planning a wedding. I felt very deflated. I went to The White Wardrobe with no expectations and already feeling low but the ladies built me back up, listened to what I didn’t like and did like (not only about dresses but also about actually trying on the dresses) They made me feel so confident and happy and I fell in love with a dress I would only dream to wear but would never of had the confidence to try on. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  Would recommend The White Wardrobe to everyone. Such a fantastic selection of dresses, I had been to other shops that were only selling your more 'typical' styles of dresses - whereas The White Wardrobe had it all; ballgown, a line, slinky, mermaid, super simple, dramatic, lace etc.. The ladies in the shop were lovely. They even found a video online of the dress I was looking at to show me in more detail. They were also super responsive on Instagram which was really handy. I had only found one dress previously that I loved (£11k dress!), I went to The White Wardrobe and left having ordered my dream dress for a fraction of that price and the experience was also nicer. They also gave me a lovely little gift bag after purchasing my dress also, which was a lovely touch. Thank you ladies!!

  I went to 4 wedding dress shops, the The White Wardrobe was by far the best appointment I went to. It was such a lovely, calm environment, and I felt really listened to and taken care of. Needless to say I found the one, the process was all explained and the dress came in earlier than predicted. Irene, their recommended seamstress, was also excellent. I'm so thrilled with my dress and I can't recommend The White Wardrobe enough!
