No hand pump for cask Ale. Not even Greene King IPA, despite it being a Greene King pub. Beer is overpriced. This is more of a restaurant than a pub, so if you want a decent pint, try The Star or The Chequers.

Asked staff member if they had a table for 3. Who already said the smoke house is closed lunchtimes. He stated have to look for a unreserved table. As the floor plan has different levels and steep steps and one of our party is nearly 90 yrs old with walking difficulties I had a cursory look but all the proper level tables where reserved though high tables which were several were empty but impractical for oaps to eat from. We left.

The food was lovely I must admit. Portion sizes a bit on the smaller side for the price paid. But absolutely no complaints on the taste of the food.. the white horse burger is flame grilled and so juicy. Could of done with some more chips and maybe a side salad with it.. the smoked chicken wings are very tender and dipped in the garlic mayo make a great combo. Chicken bacon salad looked good and I was told it was very nice. Cod wrapped in possicuto looked lovely and I was again told that it was so nice. All in all a lovely pub with a small carpark. I will return to try the homemade pie. 😋

Lunch time menu. Chose liver and bacon veggies and mash. Excellent value at £8:50. Highly recommend, friendly staff and spacious surroundings.
