I stayed for one night and got an excellent deal for bed and breakfast. I just needed somewhere to sleep after a long work day, staying over to break up the long journey home. It is on a street corner, with parking at the front, side and around the back. Even better, when I arrived I got a nice welcome and was upgraded to the ensuite double room. I guess they weren't very busy. The room itself was nice - not very big, but had a double wardrobe and a bit of space for a bag, away from the double bed, then there was the decent ensuite shower room with toilet, basin and square shower cubicle. All the fittings were good and the electric shower was fine. All was good, with the exception of the odd creaky floorboard. Even the bed was okay - definitely firm, but not uncomfortable. The TV had Netflix, and YouTube (though I had to faff to get it to connect to the house WiFi first!) My only real issue was that this lovely old building has old single-glazed sash windows, and you hear every ingle passing car. My room (#1, I think) looked onto the main road and traffic did start from 6am (when I first noticed it). With thin curtains, once awake I struggled to get back to sleep. Perhaps ask for a room not on the main road. Breakfast was the usual full English type of thing, with some cereals, toast and orange juice also available, but all nicely done. So, it's good if you are a heavy sleeper!

Rooms: Great value for the price I paid. Spotless , comfortable, can't fault it. Food & drinks: A fabulous selection of beers to choose from. Looking at the menu, and I'm surprised at the various options at reasonable prices. Obviously someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing. Pleasant and helpful staff. I highly recommend it. 👌

Quite the 70s vibe, three real ales of which one was Tetley. The food was basic pub grub.
