I had the most craziest experience today , I am 4 weeks pregnant and I am experiencing spotting and cramps, called the GP for help and advice, but Ms Jenny Whalley just dismissed my worries apparently there’s nothing she can do for me. Called the maternity unit for advice and they said at least she could have offered me with a blood test, I called the GP back with the information that she could have offered me with a blood test and guys you won’t believe what she said , “being 4 weeks pregnant is not really being pregnant” What does that even mean? She sounded very stressed , very aggressive and insensitive I had to hang up the phone as she was raising her voice at me. I refused to go back and forth with a person that supposed to help me. If you’re overworked take some time OFF! Extremely disappointed with the experience I am the last person to ever leave a bad review but today was unacceptable. The receptionist at Wellington are amazing tho! Flora Lamidi

I went to see them about intermittent insomnia and with a worry that I was traveling soon and was worried I wouldn’t sleep. Doctor basically told me I needed to learn how to sleep and gave me an antihistamine to help me sleep? I did explain that I’ve had on off sleep issues since I was 15 so have been dealing with it for over 18 years and that everything I have tried doesn’t work. No screen, meditation, reading, breath work. My brain just won’t switch off when it doesn’t want to. I fully understand not starting on a full time course of sleeping pills and I think I said I was open to that so any advice to not do that would be accurate I’m sure but I did make it really clear that this is not a simple learning to calm down and switching off exercise for me it’s something I have deeply and truly battled with for an extremely long time and I was looking for some kind of safety net when I’m going to be out in an unfamiliar environment with no other life lines where being able to sleep is really important. So I was given something and I took what I was given. Dosage was one. I took one. Nothing. I took 2 the next day. Nothing. I even tried 3. Nothing. No idea if I was just given a placebo or something? It said it was for travel sickness on the packet. I ended up in Asia with severe jet lag and stayed awake for 4 days in a straight row. First time in my life I actually felt legitimately suicidal. I had to actually find a pharmacy out there and get something that actually worked. I emailed the practice after 3 days of being awake. Still no reply 2 weeks later. I know this isn’t the standard method of contact but in the past I have emailed and had a response. Honestly it’s unfair for me to blame them for missing an email but my faith was totally shot after that experience so I ended up feeling pressured into going private. I ended up having to spend over £125 for a private doctor consultation when I returned who within 5 minutes of talking to me wrote me a proper prescription and said “this is what I would have given you on the NHS. I’m not sure why you were given an antihistamine”. So I now have something finally. I don’t know if the doctors don’t think what they do actually impacts us or if they don’t care but honestly that decision made by the doctor I saw that day put me in one of the worst situations in my entire life where I had to go out into rural Cambodia and trust a random pharmacy to not give me counterfeit medication just so I could sleep. totally completely let down and I don’t really know what else to say.

The doctors and nurses are excellent and kind, but some people in reception are rude and annoying. They use their positions for retaliation because I told them my surnames are two instead of one. After they did not care about my clarification in terms of my surnames, they told me to wait, and 10 seconds later, one of the reception staff told me I had arrived late 20 minutes, and they won´t be able to attend me and I have to re-schedule the appointment. The excuse for their retaliation was that I arrived late this time. It does not make sense for me to wait for them but they cannot wait for me 20 minutes one time (I was working and I had to asked for an authorization to leave my job). This is clearly a retaliation. Why do you put people without any customer attention skills in the reception? This is not the first time the reception staff is rude and without a clear orientation to the customers.

I had my baby three weeks ago and I had him through c section. I was in so much pain the 3rd night I was discharged from hospital. I called the surgery to talk to my DR. I called the reception and told the receptionist what am going through. I was crying and was in so much pain. She said she will get the prescriber to call me. She called after an hour and I explained my situation. Her exact words were oh sorry I can’t give you any pain killers other than the one you have that ie paracetamol 500ml and ibuprofen 200ml. I explained that I was in serious pain and plea to her to please help me. She cared less and put down the phone. She said sorry there is nothing I can do. I was so sad and disappointed. I called 111 and the lady was so helpful. She booked me in to go to the emergency and to maternity triage. They gave me an oral morph and I felt much better. This is the second time I am going into situation like this with Wellington practice. Today I went to their neighbours Cambridge and I left with my two kids.

I was able to get a routine f2f appointment with my named GP (Dr Rathor) within a few days via the patient access app. Also offering the extended hours service is an absolute godsend! Simply AMAZING!
