Rude, arrogant and disrespectful. Avoid at all costs. Go to David Duggan, a much nicer experience.

Agree with the majority of the reviews below, I walked in clearly not dressed in the attire they would have liked me to be to take me seriously, and when I asked to see a watch in the window the response was “that watch starts at £18000 sir”. I did not ask how much that watch cost, I simply asked to view it, however when he saw me take off a Rolex I was wearing suddenly the outburst of pricing didn’t seem to happen on the following pieces. I would never purchase a watch from these people, but not only because of their outrageous customer service and prejudgment, but their knowledge base is non existent when probed, the salesman tried to tell me I would not be able to buy a day date pre 1990 which came with papers as opposed to the fact the ones they had did not have papers? When I asked why he would say this was the case, he replied because nobody was interested in keeping them back then? However other models such as GMTs pre 1990s it appears the owners must have been secretly informed to hold on to the paperwork?

Never having seen a 1016 Explorer, seeing three in the window was already a five star experience 😮 I was admitted into Aladdin’s cave, explained I was not able to buy, and asked if I might see the 1016s. I was given all the time I needed, and had a very positive experience - thanks for taking the time, you made my day 🙏

Some time ago I had bought two watches from this merchant one of which was quite valuable at the very high end of what the store offers.’I walked in causally dressed (jeans and blazer wearing a basic Rolex that was my fathers) I very politely asked some questions about some watches I was interested in as well as some that I owned (considering putting a very expensive one on consignment )and the owner said “You don’t look like you could afford a watch in my store”. I politely left the store. My accent is American and I clearly sensed that my accent and smart casual was not to the owners liking. The owner is quite old, crotchety, rude and does not understand that many wealthy people today do not ostensibly show their wealth and that all customers should be treated with respect. I will never walk into this store again. If you are in Burlington Arcade make your way to David Duggan a much more professional and client centric establishment.

John is, without doubt, the rudest man I have ever had the displeasure of encountering in retail. What a shame, we wanted to buy a couple of Rolexes yesterday for my partner’s watch collection. He also doesn’t actually seem to know much about watches… very strange.

I have the utmost trust in The Vintage Watch Company and I have bought several vintage Rolex watches from them. I am not an easy customer and they have always exceeded my expectations. I will continue to purchase from them in the future and as a collector of many things, I will likely buy many more watches from them in the future.
