This is a cracking pub with cracking food! The wife is the coeliac and when asking for the menu was told almost all of it was available except for 2 items. No separate menu here. The food was excellent! Great food, great atmosphere what's not to like? Well worth a try. Looking forward to going back. Bear in mind that it would pay to book if you want to eat straight away. It's a pretty popular place now. If you're happy to wait a little while the staff will sort a table out for you. The picture is of the Cat Su Burger with the all black bun.

Spent the best night in a pub I've had since moving to Essex 11 years ago. Table of four by the fire, one of my party picked the beautiful Washbourne acoustic guitar from the wall and we had a very sensible little singalong, and it helped that he knew the owner. Nobody batted an eyelid, we had a great time as I believe did they. Brilliant concept superbly done. As an ex pro in the kitchen I cannot commend the concept, produce, hospitality and completeness of the Vine highly enough. Well done and congrats!!! Should be in Bardfield for a long time.
