No air conditioning and windows don't open much. We spent a hot night which caused some discomfort and lack of sleep. Overall, very friendly staff, and excellent breakfast. Wonderful seaview location. Rooms: Too hot with lack of ventilation and no air-conditioning. There was a floor standing fan but noisy.

A conveniently located hotel with a lot of charm. Roughly 10 minute drive from the eurotunnel, you can walk outside and walk along the promenade on the beach. Our room was spacious, well decorated, comfortable bed. Bathroom well stocked with toiletries. We could hear absolutely every single noise from the hallway, every footstep, every conversation, door knock. I was so tired it didn’t stop me from falling asleep but might bother light sleepers. There was someone on reception when we checked in around 23:30 which was super helpful. We were able to arrange a checkout for a reasonable cost. We travelled with our two dogs, were given a dog friendly room and had to pay £25 per dog. Which in my experience is exceptionally high (we’ve travelled with and stayed in many hotels with our dogs across Ireland, the UK, France and Spain).

The View Hotel is a Victorian building on the cliff 15 minutes walk from the harbour and 10 minutes from the shops. It is also just a few minutes from the Leas Cliff Theatre. As implied by the name, pretty much all rooms have a sea view. Rooms are well appointed and spacious; our bed was large and comfortable. In general the hotel retains its heritage but is also perfectly modernised. It is accessible for the mobility impaired. Service was good and discreet. Parking is on-street and the hotel can sort your parking permit for some areas but in others it is ordinary parking with online payments available. Breakfast and evening meals are in the attached Cliff Restaurant and is described in a separate review. It is a great place to eat so book yourself in here too, it's a separate booking.
