Absolutely lovely place to eat. On arrival staff were welcoming and friendly. Drinks orders were taken very quickly as we're food orders. The food was unbelievable, really good sized portions and presented beautifully. My only criticism is that we asked to see the desert menu which was promptly brought over, however no one returned to take our order. In the end we decided to skip dessert and asked for the bill.

What happened off as a lunch out with friends didn't go to plan. No parking spaces in the pub car park. Once the parking was sorted out we then ordered food . Starter were nice, then we ordered the Sunday roast with fillet beef rather than the sirloin. When it arrived all I can say is it must of been the only filet I have ever seen with more fat than a ribeye steak. When asked by the waiter if everything was fine I did say no . The amount of fat on the beef was outrageous. He tried to convince me it was fillet and that all fillet had fat on it . No doubt he believes in Santa Claus . The dinner was taken away and replaced with another with no fat what's so every, so someone was defiantly not telling the truth. When we asked for the bill it came out with a £80 bottle of wine shown. When we questioned this they said the wine was £20 per glass . Unfortunately the price on the wine menu is that small that you cannot see it states it's a glass and not a bottle . This is the oldest trick in the book to make more money by deceit. Overall the place is not worth the money despite all of the awards they have received. I shall not be returning to this pub, it's not great when everybody cannot eat at the same time. They tried to give us a roast beef dinner with fatty meat and charge us for fillet. Be very cautious if you eat here .

Amazing food, every dish we had was particularly special, definitely recommend in that sense. The only thing that did let it down was when it came to leaving, we were told several times by different waiters from 30 minutes before the end of the booking that they will need the table back and had the table cleared around us encouraging us to leave (one glass of wine was taken with some left and when our coffee was delivered we were told we ‘could’ take it outside). Of course they need to get the table ready for the next customers but it felt too much to kept being told and hurried out after spending roughly £80 per person, just felt a little unfair.

Having successfully eaten at the Unruly Pig an number of times we booked the Thursday tasting menu. As always the ambience and service were excellent, the food however was not. I feel a bill of approaching £200 deserves exceptional food and wine. The lamb rump was fatty, the tomato dish was very small and the scallop was a single scallop sliced into three (£13). To say the least we were underwhelmed, sorry it’s now off our eat out list
