Came here for Yellowcard on 26.05.23. Amazing little venue - there’s no barrier and it’s a very intimate setting. This may be my favourite gig ever, enjoyed by just 500 people. Definitely bring earplugs if you’re close to the stage. It gets loud and I can barely hear 12 hours later. Also prepare to get uncomfortably hot and sweaty. Drinks are fairly pricey (2 pints of coke was just under £9), but that’s just how London is… I’d come here again.

Great choices of bands, staff are helpful and lovely to interact with, and they have a reasonable selection of drinks on tap - to top it off, the prices are about what you'd expect for the middle of London. Unfortunately the sound engineer behind the mixing desk did a pretty poor job of making the music enjoyable. At no points in the entire gig, at any of the positions in the venue I tried to hear from, were any of the vocals clear. Despite a disappointing mix, I still had a blast seeing one of my favourite bands play live there! The actual venue is a really cool place to be, and I hope that this was just a one-off issue

Don’t try to go to The Underworld if you’re five men in their mid 30s who have booked tickets to a club night. They won’t honour it and instead refuse you entry by accusing someone of being drunk. And when asked about a refund, they won’t go into details. At the end of the day they didn’t let us in because we didn’t have women with us and probably thought we were too old, but instead use the ‘you’re too drunk’ excuse… on the one person in the group who hadn’t had a drink all evening. It’s a real shame because The World’s End/Underworld has always been one of my favourite venues, I’ve been going there for well over a decade and have never once had any issues. I will not be returning in a hurry.
