Rooms: Ours was a basic room, the floor was very creaky but that goes with the age of the hotel. Heard people above us and beside us. Beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of tea and coffee, not a problem asking for more. Our room was also above the door to go out, so we heard the buzzer and the door slamming. The room could have done with a bit of decorating. Nearby activities: We was only about a 10 minute walk to the sea front, which was great. Very long beach, sand was lovely. Right near the pier. We also walked around some beautiful gardens, which led us too the shops Food & drinks: Sadly the restaurant wasn't open on the 2 nights we stayed. So first night we had a sandwich from the bar which was nice but the 2nd night we ate out. Breakfast was nice, plenty of options from a full English to cereal and hit drinks. The hotel had a good choice of alcoholic drinks that was reasonably priced

Very close to the beach!! Room we had was very out dated, was comfortable tho. For the price point and the closeness to the beach I would definitely stay here again Nearby activities: 3 min walk to a beautiful beach !

I would never recommend this hotel. During our stay, the room was dark even with 2 ceiling lights on. There were 3 bedside lamps in which only 1 worked which was on the dressing table. The room ceiling was full of mould. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable and we could not sleep the whole night. The kettle didn't boil water properly. It's a totally rundown hotel. The hotel is located on a hill. We shorten our stay.

Rooms: Hotels over 100 years old! So have an open mind, and don't go over the top with moaning about paint work and squeaky floors! Definitely adds to the character of this place and you will definitely have story's to tell friends and family! Food & drinks: Breakfast was good! Drinks had a great selection, definitely try the scrumpy cider!

We stayed here in room 105 on Sunday 30th April on our way to Jersey and again in room 104 on Friday 5th May on our way home. The room was nice and comfortable. I have to say the food was ok but it was cold. I felt quite sorry for the 2 young ladies who seemed to be looking after the bar and serving us in the restaurant as they don't seem to have had much training. Walking round the restaurant with plates of food in your hands asking people if they have ordered what you are carrying is not the way to do it.

Absolutely disgraceful !!! The room was filthy: cobwebs; dirty sheets; stains on seat; mold in bathroom; ripped wallpaper; unwashed spoons; just to name a few things. Reception were very slow to react to even attempting to correct issues and after 3 hours we decided to leave after they turned up just to change bed sheets. Response to complaint email has been almost non existent and a resolution has still not been reached. I would stay away from this one!

Have just come back from staying here for 3 nights. Unfortunately the hotel is not as portrayed. The rooms were dirty and basic. The shower was more of a drizzle then a proper shower. The location was great as it was right near the coast, just a minute walk. Apart from that, it was not a nice hotel. It seems like the staff have given up with the hotel. Rooms: Rooms were basic and dirty.
