We used to visit Trent Lock quite alot last year, so now the weather has improved we thought we would come back. I will not be coming back. My original drink order was wrong, my husbands lager shandy was more lemonade than lager. The food took over an hour to arrive to us, I had the smoked haddock fishcakes. They were burnt on the outside, the poached egg was hard boiled. My husband had the gammon which was overcooked, the fried eggs were hard boiled, the peas overcooked and the whole dinner was cold.

Good lunchtime visit, food good however lacks consistency, would have appreciated staff checking in on our meal as this wasn't done and my husband was missing something to his meal. Plenty of outdoor seating so ideal for those summer drinks outside! Ideal for a canalside walk prior or post drinks and meal!

Absolutely fantastic location but not being utilised to its full potential, I really would love to see a small area for kids to enjoy as quite a few were running around trying to keep entertained in the nice weather. There was a long wait for food but we didn't mind as it was busy however for the price I found the price a little steep, it was ok but nothing special and costing as much as other places that really do deliver it was disappointing. Kids menu was where we really felt let down, our child is unable to eat veg sticks because he doesn't have teeth yet so we asked if we could swap for peas but we were charged extra for the 'extra' side even though it was a swap. Really felt like they didn't want to accommodate that. They were polite when we requested to move inside when it dropped cool. It's a clean well decorated pub, toilets are clean and in good order but had no loo roll, I reported this to staff and they were quick to act despite how busy it was.

Fantastic food, the service was very good. Ordered via the app in the beer garden which was very peaceful and well maintained. I had the regular burger, which came with brisket which was a great touch! Overall 5/5, would rate 6 if I could!
