Best School in Barnet! Totteridge Academy is the Number 1 school in the borough of Barnet 2022 (for improvement). Walking around TTA, there are some hints of the old school... but... today, this AMAZING school is a far cry from those Ravenscroft School days. The new head, Mr Fairbairn, has transformed the teaching and learning attitudes and achievements at Totteridge Academy. Last night, we attended the Annual Evening of Excellence, with an electirc atmosphere in the old hall. Mr. Fairbairn and George Lamb ( from GROW) did their speeches and introductions with positive and inspirational vibes. We all felt very proud of our children and the school. Thank you, Mr Fairbairn, George, Miss Steel and all the teachers and staff. We appreciate every thing you do. As a parent, I give you this 5-star review as a RECOGNITION from all of us!! My child loves the atmosphere in TTA. She has a feeling of security, community, support and friendship. The work is hard, the expectation is high, but the support is second to none. She feels part of the TTA family, which is very apparent when you visit... so book that personal visit and put TTA as your first choice for year 7, or 6th form.. and see how this school has changed.

This is a really interesting and positive seeming school. Lots of interesting changes have been made by the "new" head who has been in place since 2016. Kids are calm and friendly and the school is definitely performing well. One star removed for how awkward it is to get to the school.

Don't get me wrong, most of the teachers are lovely, the lessons are interesting, and the school is beautiful, however the adults take minimum action when it comes to bullying and physical incidents, which occur frequently. If you discuss the incident with your form tutor, they'll take the least measures, depending on who they are. For example, sometimes a form tutor just pulls the student to an empty room, and tells them that the child who was in the argument with them is getting a consequence, and that's pretty much it. Most events happen in the classroom, so I think that the staff should be more aware of the students and as to what they are doing during lessons. The students are a whole other level of heck. The students in year nine and above trash the bus and pour water on other pupils heads, which I find disturbing. There are a lot of fights that go on in school grounds, it is mainly boys who fight with eachother, but sometimes the girls also engage in physical activities, There is a good side to this school. There are really good clubs such as homework club and origami club, assemblies are fun to attend, teachers are passionate about what they teach too, which I think is quite unique about TTA. However there's always room for improvement..
