I was in a real bind when another tile shop mis-measured for my bathroom and didn't order enough of a certain tile. I called Dennis at the Tile Shop and he was able to source the tiles and get them delivered in two days which meant our tiler was able to finish the job within the timescale he set. Walked by and it said "appointment only, please call X number to make appointment". So I phoned up and asked if I could come in, and a lady put me on hold. She then came back to me twice to say she was putting me on hold again. They couldn't find the right person for me to speak to. Eventually after about five minutes of waiting, she put me onto some guy who was making a million covid related excuses as to why I couldn't come in (it's a small shop). I said that I was on my own and had a mask. Still not good enough plus they have no staff on site, or so he says. How they can afford the rent on a shop in Islington and not occupy the premises is bizarre. Today I've been to every local tile shop (Topps, Tiles etc, Tower) and this is the only one which won't let in a single person from the street wearing a mask. Tiles etc is also a tiny tile shop and no problems whatsoever. It seems like Tile Box doesn't want new business and is not interested about passing trade. I can't see why I would bother coming here again and my money will be going to one of the previously mentioned tile shops. When I said that to the man, he said I was being unfair! Why make it so hard for new customers to shop here?
