  I recently contacted Gretta Ford for help with my dog, Angel. She suddenly started with anxiety and stared shivering and panting. She stopped wanting to go for a walk . She is normally such a social dog and goes everywhere with me. After Gretta came to my house She put a complete action plan together for Angel and I. There is now such a big improvement after just letting her choose where, and if she wants to walk, she is walking further and more confident. I deffinatly would recommend Gretta her calm approach and vast knowledge in this area made myself and Angel trust her immediately.

  If you’re looking for an experienced, dog and person centred behaviourist / trainer then look no further. Gretta is so knowledgable in the field of dog behaviour and has supported us since our dog was a small pup (5 years ago). I wouldn’t turn to anyone else for advice or training for our dog. Gretta is so understanding of any concerns shared and she’ll always provide the most up to date training / advice with follow up reports. Gretta goes above and beyond to ensure we learn the necessary skills to help our dog stay happy and healthy in todays hectic world.

  Our vet recommended that we speak to Gretta after we had faced some challenging reactive behaviour from our four year old Portuguese water dog. During the initial conversation with Greta we recognised that what we perceived as failings on our part were in fact strategies to help our dog cope with the world around him. We also realised that we are advocates for our dog and we need to help him either to avoid negative stimulations which cause him to be fearful or if those situations cannot be avoided then to teach him ways of coping. With Greta`s support we have embarked ( no pun intended) on a new journey with our dog but are always mindful that like humans dogs are individuals and neither are perfect. We have benefitted tremendously from Greta`s input and are happy to recommend her services to anyone who is struggling to understand their own dogs behaviour and how they can help their dog to be happy and thrive.

  I would recommend Gretta unreservedly to anyone who has issues with their dog - or indeed anyone who just wants to better understand their companion and get the most from the relationship. We thought our dog 'simply' had a noise phobia which was making him increasingly unhappy and reluctant to go for walks. Gretta taught us how to deal with the noise problem, but her observations and advice were crucial in identifying other issues which we have now been able to investigate further and begin to resolve. He is a much happier dog than he was 6 months ago, and we are back to enjoying our walks once again. Thank you Gretta, you really set us back on track and helped restore the everyday doggy joy in our lives.

  Gretta was a brilliant help with our dog, resulting in a much happier dog and humans! In our virtual consultation, Gretta helped us talk through the issues we were experiencing in lots of detail, and explained why we may be seeing these behaviours. She then discussed a (custom) training plan with us, which was very clear and easy to follow. The training has made a huge difference and we’d definitely recommend Gretta to anyone!

  I have such a high regard for Gretta, and strongly recommend her services. I attended Bronze, Silver and Gold group dog training classes with Gretta which were absolutely brilliant. Gretta is extremely likable (by dogs and humans) professional and so knowledgeable. I also used Gretta's 1-2-1 service on 2 occasions where she came out to our house to support us with our Golden Doodle, Lola. The first home visit was support initially with Lola as a new puppy. This was invaluable! The second was a home visit when Lola was approximately 2 years old, for some behaviour support for barking at birds in the garden. I implemented all that Gretta advised, and magically the problem was resolved- pretty much instantly. We are so grateful to you Gretta! We hope to be getting another Golden doodle soon, so will be contacting you I'm sure, so even though you're no longer local to us, hopefully you will be offering video calls!!

  Gretta is a fantastic dog trainer, I would recommend her to everyone. Not only is she very knowledgeable, her methods are kind and clear for the dog and easy to understand for the owner. We have an anxious dog and Gretta helped enormously with helping us to understand what we need to do to help him. As well as having a wealth of experience and expertise, Gretta makes the sessions enjoyable for dog and owner alike. If you have a puppy or an issue with a dog I wholeheartedly recommend seeking help from Gretta!

  Gretta, or the dog whisperer as myself and my boyfriend refer to her, is absolutely brilliant. She’s been such a fantastic support over the past few years from bringing a first puppy into the home to then integrating a rescue dog into the house. Having any dog can be quite challenging and Gretta has helped to keep me sane and make it that much easier - breaking down goals and helping with recommendations and training exercises to improve behaviour. Gretta has helped with a range of things over the years - from understanding how best to socialise my puppy, helping to reduce fear of household objects (yes the hoover!) but also tips to improve eating out with my dog and more recently how to integrate a new rescue dog. Gretta pulls on her experience and knowledge to bring a range of ideas and is very practical, but also often gives you further reading recommendations or video clips to enable you to build your own knowledge on top of the plans you have created together. Most importantly, Gretta is such a lovely person and makes the process enjoyable, and dogs absolutely love her!

  When we got our first Standard Poodle 4 years ago we were delighted to find Gretta to help us with his training. She is a thoroughly professional and extremely knowledgeable dog trainer whom our dog adored and she helped to mend his errant ways and the results spoke for themselves. He is an absolute delight and constantly receives compliments about his behaviour now. When we got our second Standard 6 months ago we had no hesitation in calling in Gretta again because no. 2 is a real character constantly looking to cause mischief and we felt we needed Gretta to help us with his training. Needless to say we have begun to see improvements and know he is heading in the right direction. Gretta is a pleasure to deal with and we would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to use her. Now if I could just find someone to train my husband!!
