Absolutely first class scones and cakes - best scones I have ever bought! In the wonderful weather it was a pleasure eating out. Shame about the take-away staff stopping service as they were falling behind with service indoors and treating customers as a nuisance…telling them it was going to take ages and not to ask for progress after waiting patiently for 10 minutes….twice!

What a disappointment nowhere on the website does it state that takeaway only outside and only cake , even though we were sat on tables next to the exit. We walked 5 miles for Welsh rarebit specifically but with two dogs. Dogs are not allowed in (fair enough) but only cake as a takeaway no lunch of any description. We regularly do this walk especially for the Welsh rarebit and always sit outside. The website needs updating if the rules have changed. The place was pretty empty too so that’s no reason. Feeling annoyed as we planned the walk a week ago only to feel flat and hungry at the end of it and a walk back on an empty stomach.

Beautiful cafe in a beautiful place. However ordered take away drinks and waited outside for them. A young lad came out to deliver them to us. He had filthy hands and was holding the cups from the top. We were put off and couldn't drink them. Please do a hygeine check with your staff before service
