Stunning location. We stayed here as part of a wedding party. Perfect for both a party and a retreat. It is quite hilly but you can pick up a buggy easily. Nothing is too much trouble. I'm definitely returning but next time I'm bringing my dog!

I’m absolutely in love with this place. The stay itself was perfect. Staying in the lovely hedgehog lodge , it was super clean and tidy, stocked with everything you could think of including a full complimentary mini bar, snacks, tea, coffee and milk. They even went out of their way to make my partners birthday that extra little bit special with champagne and balloons. Such a treat!! The grounds itself are stunning with so much history to explore and with the free bike rental it makes an easy ride to get round all the grounds. The staff were wonderful. So warm and friendly. They honestly couldn’t do enough for you morning moon and night. There’s always someone around happy to help. Best bunch of staff 10/10 I’d say this is a MUST stay suitable for everyone whether you want a quiet weekend break or a family holiday. Counting down until we can return ❤️

We came to the Tawney for a 4 night minimoon trip away after our wedding and I can honestly say that it was an unbelievable and unforgettably positive experience. We had such a lovely time. Arriving we had great service with our bags and getting us all sorted with our Glade that we had booked. First lovely surprise and service was the electric caddies that act as local taxi service for the whole estate. Really handy for lots of luggage, for the really rainy first night after dinner. The accommodation was lovely. It was everything we wanted it to be. It small and cosy, but not feeling cramped in. It was secluded in the back with our outside bathtub for privacy but amazing views right out the front door too. The amenities were great and if you fancy having some room service and night in your place the food was fantastic and just added to the whole relaxing feel. Now the food, blew us away. It was delicious and looked stunning! We went to the Restaurant twice and each time we loved it. As you can imagine it was expensive but it was certainly worth in my books. The room service food was the same that you could have at the bar/ lunchtime menu, and it was really tasty too, lots of great nibbly things to have and lovely flatbreads for something more filling. The breakfasts were fantastic. Best complimentary breakfast that we have both had with various different choices of pastries, yogurts, fruit and deli meats too. The options for cooked breakfasts were delightful and the juices and hot drinks were always welcome and lovely. The grounds/ estate were simply breathtaking, and very accessible. You could that a photographer has had a hand in the design of some of the layouts and views and there were lots of secret hidden bits, but I won't reveal, as you should genuinely explore every part you can. The heated outdoor pool was very nice and fun to relax in. The surrounding countryside was fantastic, as you can imagine with the Peak district. There are so many pubs to go too if you want to venture out and reception were great in having recommended list for you to try out or suggest a preferred alternative if looking for something a bit more specific. Overall, We both want to come back again for our anniversary and/or share this with family. This is a must stay and must experience.
