I enjoyed a superb birthday meal at The Table recently. The restaurant is more Asian-inspired than it was previously, but I’d argue that the food has jumped up another level. Although I wasn’t wowed by the soft shell crab pakora, which I had as a starter on this occasion, the prawn, mussel and crab red Thai curry was possibly the best dish I’ve ever eaten at the restaurant. The black treacle and peanut butter ice creams were also a revelation. Service was brilliant, the only error being that I was given the ‘sharing’ curry from the specials board rather than the standard portion on the main menu. Thankfully we were only charged for the standard curry and I still managed to brush off about two thirds of it! A very special restaurant.
