Absolutely awful. I don't know what happened to this place, possibly another hospitality casualty following Covid, but I used to love eating here on the terrace. Went on the 17th June for my birthday - mother in law booked the table, specifically told me we'd be sitting outside according to the confirmation email. Arrived to see the terrace shut and told that the upstairs terrace was purely for drinks, no food. We were not the only people this had happened to - we heard other tables complain about this. Not overly disappointed as it was in a terrible state, filthy and covered in bird droppings. Food was underwhelming. My starter of courgette flower was basically a flower stuffed with ricotta and spinach and warmed up. Should have been tempura battered and deep fried. Was not good or edible. Desert was also a let down - £7.50 for a 'cake' the size of a ping pong ball, that was actually a chocolate truffle. Never felt more ripped off. But, by far the worst thing of all, was the horribly rude man who was serving us. I've never been served by some one who so brazenly didnt want to be working there. Really put a downer on the whole evening. I'd reccomend going somewhere in Westerham village and safe yourself the ghastly experience of their hideous waiter. So not worth the price tag.

My 1st visit with 4 other sprightly OAP's was all that we could have hoped for. A long lazy delicious lunch with fine wines, excellent and discreet service in comfortable surroundings. We loved the ambiance and the whole experience encouraged us to go again soon.

Went out for a nice evening meal with my wife. The surroundings are pleasant, tables not too close so you don't feel cramped in. Wine was pretty expensive, but nothing out of the ordinary for a top restaurant so not unexpected. The service was amateurish; basically sixth formers who knew next to nothing about the items on the menu and couldn't really advise much; but they were trying hard and were all very friendly. I think some descent training would not go amiss. My wife ordered the cheese platter for dessert but asked for no goats cheese as she was intolerant to it. The waitress noted this down but when it came there was the goat's cheese slap bang in the middle. When we queried the waitress what we suspected was goats cheese she couldn't identify it so went to get someone who could. The food was a bit of a disappointment for a 'good' restaurant. The pheasant I had was dry and the treacle tart's base was hard (possibly reheated in the microwave/oven). The crab bisque was however delicious. Summary : I was hoping for fine dining but it fell short. It did have potential however and requires development in attention to detail, so I'll monitor reviews and try again in a few months, until then I'll stick with the Old Bank in Westerham.

Great & friendly service. This was our first time visiting and we all enjoyed our meals. My slow-cooked beef cheeks were excellent, melt in the mouth. Feedback on the seabass and mussels was also excellent. Will definitely return in the summer
