The wards are very dirty and disorganised. The environment is noisy with loud music blasting past the hallways. Staff are very condescending, lazy and choose not to be very helpful. There are often staff shortages, community trips are often cancelled with very little notice. There is heavy use of inexperienced agency staff. Staff turnover is incredibly high because of bullying. This is an unpleasant environment for any patient looking to recover.

Communication with Hulton Ward is appalling. No smoking site which means patients transferred to PICU have to deal with forced withdrawal from a lifelong habit and nicotine addiction at a time when they do not posess the mental strength needed. What use is physical health when the patients are either homicidal or suicidal?
