Great experience with an install from Andy and staff at the The Solar People. Had an install of a 18 panel 7kw Enphase PV arrary with 11.5 kwh of Alpha ESS storage. Zero issues with the install of either PV or battery and the system has exceeded my expectations. I am all in on electric- heat pump, EV etc' and using Octopus GO the savings are staggering (over £600 alone in March) So while the Enphase micro inverters and Alpha ESS battery aren't the cheapest - you get what you pay for and I expect the system to pay for itself in 3 years. Little delayed getting the battery installed as like everyone they are suffering supply chain issues because of the crazy demand for PV systems at the moment, but at no point did I ever feel like the Solar People were going to let me down (unlike my wifes boss whose installers have vanished of the face of the earth mid install) So highly recommend these guys, especially if you are looking for a system with high end components

The solar People installed my system last year and it is working beautifully after a great experience from first contact to install. Where a little slow issuing MCS and DNO paper work but sorted that when I contacted them.

Ordered a solar panel with battery system in August 2022. It was finally completed in Feb 2023, over 5 months later. I was given dates and then, on the day nobody turned up. Had to chase which was difficult. The only time things moved was when I spoke to Andy (owner) directly, calling the office was a waste of time. Once ordered I was supposed to have a survey but I had to chase that as well. Guy turned up, casual look around, no measurements with the main objective of finding somewhere to put the batteries. When the panels were installed one had to be left off because there was not enough room, so much for the "survey"! Communications were a shambles, but to be fair I got £250 knocked off the bill and the cost of the missing panel was also deducted. Panels are great when there is good sunlight, so looking forward to electricity Independence in the spring and summer. System works well but the logic of it seems hard to fathom. Looking at the settings, charging the battery is the priority before exporting to the grid but very often I seem to be exporting rather than charging and importing from the grid even though there is plenty of generation and battery charge. Currently making the SEG application for energy export but the feed in price I will get back is about 1/6th of what they charge me. I've raised it with my MP, Alok Sharma and suggested that electricity should be charged on net usage (import vs export over a quarter). As part of the application I was asked for a wire diagram of my system. I emailed Andy twice but had no response so had to copy one from a leaflet I was given, no idea if it is the correct one. It's a good system that I would recommend, but be prepared to have to do a lot of phoning to get things done!

Wow It's been just over a week since i had my 16 panels installed along with the lux 19.2kw storage system. I'm on octopus intelligence as charge a car overnight at 7.5p per kWh So even on a dull day with minimal pv output I've run the whole house off the battery. Excellent considering I've stopped using the gas to heat the hot water so saving loads. When we have a sunny day i will not need to charge overnight ! Thank you

Honestly, my partner and I loved the solar people. They did such a great job in installing the panels, and wiring them up, and if we had a question/problem they always answer (eventually... lol!) The only thing I would say is that communication could be better (e.g - saying they'll get back to you and then forgetting) but you kind of end up forgetting about that as they do always come back eventually. Well worth it for us and we are so glad we went with them. Also compared to other big companies (Eon for example) where the wait list was 8 months - We managed to get ours in about 2.5 months which is pretty good going.

We did a lot of research and got three quotes before selecting The Solar People, mainly because of their professional approach – no ‘hard sell’, explained the technicalities and options well and offered sound advice. Everyone from The Solar People has been excellent and we are delighted with the installation. One small criticism is that communication preceding the installation was poor and we were a bit concerned but they had done everything required for the installation, just did not tell us. After completing the installation, and there were no problems, communication has been excellent and all the required documentation was promptly sent. We have no hesitation in recommending them.

We have two sets of panels and a set of batteries installed by The Solar People. They are quality products, professionally installed and exceeded our expectations. Yes we had to wait a couple of months, but you can't blame the company for supply issues and overdemand from the public. Would definitely recommend.

Wow it’s been 5 months since installation of inverter 7 months in total from start to finish and still no completion paperwork or certificates. No replies to emails, customer aftercare is nonexistent. Thank you for getting in touch Andy, appreciate the fast response over the festive period.

This was a great company to work with during a very difficult time in the solar industry. The finished project is very good and I would return to them should I need any further equipment. There were some faults but all resolved without fuss. Their proactive communication could be better but I know how stretched they were at times. They have done what they committed to and kept a friendly approach.
