Highly Recommend Dr Joe Datt, Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician. We travelled from the Republic of Ireland for an assessment for our daughter. His kindness, gentleness and empathy towards my child was really touching. I felt like he stepped outside the diagnostic tools, and didn't use them in isolation, taking his time to see her as an authentic soul with individual needs. He gave such amazing insight and knowledge as to how we can really help her achieve her optimal potential and live her best life. Thank you

I reviewed the Soke Clinic on 21 December last year following after a traumatic experience at this clinic, and see that the review has disappeared as I changed my Google account. I am pasting the photo of my review here and re-writing it. It was in reply to the owner's response to Rach Nou (my husband) who left a review. The owner responded to me in public but made no effort to contact me privately, which seems to indicate that she is only concerned about the reputation of her clinic and not the wellbeing of the clients. ------ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW---- Our child was not being seen by "colleagues in the NHS". I don't know why you believe this to be the case. You also assume incorrectly that our complaint is driven by the fact that we are uncomfortable with our child discussing thought and memories of family life. When you bring your child to a therapist obviously you know that they are going to give their perspective on the parents; we know, like most parents, that we are not perfect but that we are good enough and we are trying our best. The "thoughts and memories" of parents as you describe is inaccurate. Our child suffers from anxiety, intrusive thoughts and thought-based OCD, one of the most debilitating mental health conditions as the sufferer does not know what is real and what is not. The thoughts and images are distressing ones and pop into one's head unbidden. Our child was referred specifically for CBT as it is the recommended method to treat this condition. Instead, the psychologist focused on one of the thoughts to see if it was actually a memory of a real event, and so nearly started planting seed of a false memory in a troubled mind. The main reason we are so angry is that the two therapists seemed to have a theory as the root cause of our child's anxiety and then cherry-picked information provided by our child and us to build a picture that was completely incorrect. They ignored all the evidence that disproved their theory and made huge leaps in assumptions. A case of confirmation bias. The result has been the most stressful and anxious time for us as a family. Our child became worse than she was when we first came there and us as parents were struggling to cope with our own stress at a time when our child needed more of our support than ever. The social worker closed the case down in 5 days (we signed full consent forms to talk to all professionals that deal with our children as we have nothing to hide). She advised us to seek out a therapist that knows about OCD and intrusive thoughts and has experience in treating this condition with CBT. We cannot comment on the corporate wellbeing part of the service you provide but as far as recommending a therapist for children suffering from intrusive thoughts and OCD this clinic the therapists we have seen should be avoided.

Currently I’m seeing a psychotherapist for one-on-one sessions since 2020 and also started marriage counselling last year at The Soke. I was not use to the idea of seeking help for my mental health since I come from a family that believes that one should just buckle down, deal with your own problems yourself and soldier on. So I had concerns, was uneasy and didn’t know what to expect when I first started. My mental health had suffered significantly during 2020 so once I was finally aware that I was really struggling I thought I had nothing else to lose and should just try therapy. I didn’t realise that I had already started struggling with my mental health since I had a failed IVF attempt in 2019. Through the therapy sessions I am now more aware of triggers, how to cope with certain situations better and stop avoiding certain things which I shouldn’t. The Soke has made me feel so much better now and my marriage has also improved. My husband who was sceptical of doing marriage counselling can see the improvements in the marriage and also in me since I first started therapy. The Soke has been very good at selecting the right therapists and the staff is very friendly and very willing to help. The uneasiness I felt because I was not use to the concept of seeking therapy for my mental health was taken note and The Soke and my therapist did amazingly in giving me confidence in trusting the process and soon be more open in my sessions. The feel of the waiting area and therapy rooms since they are decorated in a style that makes it not feel clinical and the relaxing pods available for before and after each session also help in reducing my uneasiness. It feels calming. I highly recommend The Soke based on my own personal experience.

I have referred several clients to the Soke and the feedback has been very good. I have visited the clinic, and was very impressed by the calibre of the clinicians, and the psychiatrist on board - who I know to be excellent. Isabelle - who handles enquiries and admissions is helpful, personable and intuitive. I know that she will always work out a good care plan, and that first call is important for a potentially anxious client. Thank you Soke - a great resource.
