Love this place. When my Aunt comes up to Yorkshire - we visit and love our afternoon cream tea. Lots of memories of rainy days at Nunnington Hall.

Nunnington is a small but beautiful site. It is more of a house and gardens visit rather than the classic national trust where you will be able to walk the trails for hours. The site has a cafe, toilets and plenty of spaces to soak up the sun as well as small activities for children. The house also hosts wildlife photography awards which are lovely to see.

A cracking National Trust house and garden. This is one of the smaller houses and gardens we have visited, but how long you spend here is entirely up to you. The house is wonderfully maintained and preserved and if you want to stop and look at all the detail this will take you 45-60 mins to walk round. Obviously if you don't stop and read anything or talk to the ever so helpful staff who are very knowledgeable about the rooms and contents you can fly round much quicker. The top floor houses art exhibitions which are a nice treat. The gardens are not very big, and only take 15-20 minutes to walk round, again depending on how much to stop and admire the flowers or talk to the gardners. What is special about this place is the amount of picnic tables, benches, deck chairs and even hammocks around the grounds which allow you stop and relax and take it all in. You can bring a picnic and there is a large lawn which kids can play on and even a small play area for them. You could spend all day here if you really wanted or make it an enjoyable 2 hour trip. The cafe on site is also very good with indoor and outdoor seating and reasonable prices. Car park is free and multiple toilets on site.
