Lovely warm welcome, friendly and helpful staff. We came in just on the nose at 14.30 knowing that lunch could well be over. The lady serving us popped her head into the kitchen to see if the kitchen could do anything and they kindly offered sandwiches. Thank you so much because my husband was getting hangry! On top of that, the cask ale was well kept (I had a pint of Colchester brewery's Sweeney Todd) and the sandwich delicious. Super pub and I will recommend it to anyone.
