FAQ
What is the specialty dish of your Scottish restaurant?

It's a classic Scottish dish made with sheep's heart, liver and lungs, combined with swede and potatoes.Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options on your menu?
Yes, we do offer vegetarian and vegan options on our menu. We have a separate vegetarian menu with a range of dishes, including roasted cauliflower and vegetarian haggis, neeps, and tatties. Our vegan options include a vegan burger and vegan lentil soup.Do you have a children's menu available?
Yes, we do have a children's menu available. Our children's menu includes dishes such as macaroni and cheese, fish and chips, and sausage and mash. We also offer a smaller portion of some of our main menu dishes for children. Is it necessary to make a reservation in advance?
While we do accept walk-ins, we highly recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a table is available. We can get quite busy, particularly during peak times, and we wouldn't want you to be disappointed if we're fully booked. What are your operating hours and days of the week?

Food is ok, I was expecting more elaboration in the dishes. And it’s a little overpriced for what is it.

Very fun restaurant - excellent selection of drinks, including seasonal cocktails, local beers on tap, and non-alcoholic options. Food menu features local specialties (highly recommend the cullen skink, haggis and fish pie), executed well. Super kid friendly - kids menu and high chairs available. Overall, highly recommended for family dining.

After reading multiple reviews on child friendly restaurants in Edinburgh we decided to go to The Scran and Scallie but it was an awkward, unpleasant experience. Our 6 month old was well behaved but a little noisy (not crying but kept letting out excited shouts ironically) and this was clearly not welcome. I also breast fed and the staff didn’t even try to hide their disgust. The food was fabulous, best fish pie I’ve ever had but I’d avoid if you have young children.
