My wife bought me this sailing trip as a birthday gift and we took along friends and family for a days sailing on the Solent and were absolutely delighted with the whole experience. The crew ( and boat owners) Chris,Sue,Hilary and Jules made our day with first class attention to safety and hospitality on their yacht and we couldn't fault the day sailing the Solent and absorbing the wonderful sights, we all hope to do it again soon!

A big thank you to the Salamander team for the most amazing day out on their beautiful sailing yatch. Sue, Chris and Joules made for a very enjoyable and special day with meticulous organisation, great hospitality with humour and laughter. They even managed to get the sun to peak through the clouds. We had a lovely sail over to The Needles followed by lunch at The Hut, which was made extra special as we were able to anchor just outside. It was a great experience and everyone loved it, couldn't recommend it enough. Will definitely be doing it again! :)

Two excellent days with Chris, Sue and Julian on board Salamander, blessed by the early summer sun and some wind. We sailed from Lymington towards Cowes with the perfect wind the crew set the sails and switched of the engine and we glided peacefully through the Solent on the mighty Salamander. She is a perfect cruiser, very stable and a thoroughly relaxing environment to enjoy some light refreshments, take in the atmosphere and listen to the fascinating stories of the circumnavigation and more! After a pleasant supper in Cowes and a walk up the high street past all the Yacht clubs with Julian we returned to Salamander for some much earned sleep. Sue was extremely helpful in making sure I felt at home on-board and I spent the night in the very comfortable forward en-suite cabin with WIFI from the marina, sockets for chargers in the cabin and plenty of space. After an excellent sleep I had a shower in the Cowes Marina facilities and after breakfast we set sail for Hamble with a trip through the endless amounts of fascinating yachts of all shapes and sizes we berthed for lunch in beautiful Hamble! Then it was a quick hop up to Southampton Ocean Village Marina for a look at the race yachts who seemed to have at least one crew member on-board who knew Chris and wanted a chat! After leaving Southampton we set sail back towards Lymington on the tide and with yet more glorious sunshine and wind. Arriving in Lymington signalled the end of my wonderful couple of days on Salamander in truth I did't want it to end. The team were very professional, knowledgeable and great company. They all were happy to help with all of my requests and the whole operation felt very slick and we seemed to effortlessly glide form port to port and you could tell the whole team were very experienced and this radiated a calm environment throughout the trip. I cannot wait for my next visit aboard the Salamander and hope we are blessed with the same weather! p.s. If you ask nicely Chris will give you a chance on the helm which is an excellent experience to feel in control!

We had a fabulous day with Sue and Chris on their beautiful yacht Salamander, sailing from Lymington to the Isle of Wight for lunch and return. Chris and Sue have sailed the world on Salamander and their experience shows, immediately from the warm welcome aboard to the fond farewells at the end of a great day out. Thank you for your hospitality, inspirational tales, yummy food, endless cups of tea and for making us feel so comfortable on a sailing boat.

Great day out! Although the weather was not ideal I had a very enjoyable day aboard this classy sailing boat. We sailed round to Bucklers Hard from Lymington where we had time to explore this historical village after lunch. Motoring up and down the Beaulieu River is idyllic. It is like another world. Very peaceful. Seeing it from the deck of a boat is perfect. Especially one so well appointed with a large deck area to relax on. Sailing backwards and forwards across the Solent made the return journey invigorating. The power and majesty of the boat was enjoyed both by those who had sailed before and those who hadn't. The whole experience was memorable and to be recommended. Don't forget to take a warm jacket just in case.
