Childrens portion of breaded chicken came out as tough as a boot and burnt round edges and absolutely no flavour, no choice of veg. Chips tasted foisty cooked in horrible oil or cooked too many times? The egg mayo sandwhich was too thick to bite, looked as if the butter had been sliced off a block about eight inch thick and just placed on bread and over powered the taste of the egg mayo. Hubby had the hot beef sandwich he enjoyed it, but at £12.50 cost too much, £5.00 for 2 teas?? £6.00 for childrens portion. Spent £36.00 and quite honestly thought I'd been robbed. I'll stick to Bolster Moor in future.

Food Was very poor quality. Never was a better description.... Burnt ends. Rolled in breadcrumbs and fried to within an inch. Too hard to cut. My "very mild" criticism was smilingly dismissed. An experience.

An excellent Sunday breakfast experience. The food was perfect and the service from Abbie and Jack was outstanding. Well done and keep it up 👍.

We arrived just before 11 for breakfast (our first time visiting) had our drinks orders taken, sat for 15 minutes before the waitress returned (without our drinks) and informed us that because they are "busy" we can only order currant tea cakes or cake. There were 4 empty tables and 4 waiting staff at the front so I can't imagine how they would (or wouldn't, apparently) manage with a full house. Heading to Bolster Moor. Edit following response*** Thanks for your response - however, it might be worth staff actually informing customers on arrival instead of leaving them sitting for 15 minutes to choose from a menu which isn't available. It's not an excuse, I'm afraid, just poor service.

The rusty bull has the most phenomenal ingredients. . .However the chefs abilities do not do them justice. Soggy lukewarm chips. Cheese toasty dripping with grease. Watery Peppercorn sauce that tastes burnt and nothing like a peppercorn sauce. It is expensive although if the standard of food and service matched the quality of the ingredients it would be worth every penny, Unfortunately this is not the case. Finally. The service was incredibly slow. Attitude and attentiveness requires some major improvement.
