Just came here for a drink, and I have had food in the past, which I remember being very good. It's a put that is bursting with character! There's lot's of seating, especially outside, where there's a huge beer garden. The staff were friendly and there was a good selection of drinks. Recommended booking a table at busy times.

they have stopped looking after their beers. Previous visit, had one pint of Conqueror and it didn't taste right. Horrible hangover the next day. Today, one pint of Beechwood and it tasted of vinegar.

In 15 years, worst food ever today....ÂŁ21.95 for fish and chips that were hardly edible. Sullen and unresponsive staff. Used to a great proper pub, now nothing more than a tourist trap. Won't be going back, which is terrible tjing to say but much better offers elsewhere now.

The food was lovely and my small group enjoyed our meals. The food arrived really, really fast and was well presented. It wasnât piping hot, but was clearly cooked and fresh. The portions were generous and bigger than youâd normally get. So for the price, I was very happy. I loved the roast potatoes and could have eaten another plate full. The service was fine, no issues with the wait staff and the service was prompt. The staff were all fairly young and I would say that some were possibly inexperienced in dealing with customers. But that is not the same as being rude or inattentive, simply a little experience / confidence to build up. All in all, I would visit again. Itâs not âtouristyâ at all despite other reviews, and it was quite relaxed on our visit. My one bugbear was that the place was a little unloved, it was just a little bit worn out and behind the bar areas looked a bit untidy / messy. At first appearance, I was worried that weâd picked a poor choice for dinner. But the rest of the experience did make up for those concerns.
