I have just complete the 'Carve a Head Course' and it was fantastic. Over the course of 3 days James took us from zero carving experience to a completed head. The location is fantastic a bright and airy workshop, tea and coffee on demand, and all of the tools and instruction you need. The Team at The Rocking Horse Shop were brilliant, helpful and supportive and, despite my concerns about achieving success, they were right, I have produced a head that I can be proud of. In due course it will sit on my grandaughter's rocking horse. If you are contemplating building a rocking horse then I advise you to make use of the team's expertise and book a course. You won't regret it and the course is both challenging and fun.

I could never have imagined I would have such a beautiful heirloom when I bought the plans for the medium laminated rocking horse, but if you want something to go down through the generations with you will not find anything more satisfying as making your own. From start to finish it was a fantastic experience. Every question was answered by Becca within a couple of hours. I also got the DVD which I was so glad as it made my job so much easier. Everything was delivered within a few days to Ireland. Thank you so much to all at The Rocking Horse Shop. P.S. go for the deluxe accessory set, it's beautiful. I can't wait to make the next one.. Great service as usual. However I do wish you would take a little future care with your scalp cutting. The recent order I received was irregular in shape and size. A more regulated scalp would be easier to work with when carving out on the neck.
