Terrible service, very arrogant. We were told not to be served any drinks only after we ordered one bottle of wine to share with three of us. We were quiet all time and not causing any problems to other people and just having relaxing time. We all got very surprised and disppointed why we were treated with no respect.

Terrible service and food I’ve been to the pocock for food a few times over the years and it’s al ways been ok. Yesterday we visited as a family and I’ve got to say the food was awful. Badly presented. I ordered lasagna and god a massive plate with a small microwaved piece of lasagna on the side of the plate!!! Nothing else!!! I engaged with 2 members of staff who were both quite unfriendly and unwelcoming. The service was shocking. Some basic health and safety issues need to be addressed. The gormless waiter even passed a boiling hot plate to a child. He must have known it was hot as he had an oven glove on!!!! No warning. I mentioned it to him and he just stared at me with no response. Completely shocked me. Most of the many tables were sticky and full of empty plates. I was given the wrong order and told, quite abruptly, by the other rude member of staff that’s what I’d ordered! The table behind said it was theirs and she just took it back and gave it to them with no acknowledgment of her rudeness. The whole place looked very messy and tired. I probably will find myself a new establishment. Such a shame coz it’s used to be a lovely place to get a cheap meal.

The Whisperer
A lovely pub just a short walk from the station. There are a number of levels throughout including an upstairs level around a hanging artwork. This pub has entrances off two streets: Stone Street and Windmill Street. The decor is very much the usual dark wood and with the usual spoons seating options. The staff were lovely and the pub was clean and tidy when we were there. The Guinness was excellent as was the Doom Bar - although we did have a bit of a wait for them.
