Visited in October 2022 to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. What an amazing experience! The food, as you would expect, was simply sublime. As a vegetarian, choices are obviously more limited but it was still one of the best meals I've ever had. Every meal was cooked to perfection. Whilst not a 'typical' place for us to visit, it was a special occasion and the staff were just as good as the food. We were all (2 adults, one 14 year old) made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble and they were all so friendly. The little 'birthday' treat was also vey much appreciated. Expensive yes, you'd expect it to be and it's worth every penny. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Treated myself with Lunch at the restaurant and it was amazing. The staff is so helpful and friendly. You could tell they love what they are doing. Thanks so much to the wonderful waitress for giving me a little restaurant tour. Had the pea-mint soup as a starter (please let me have the recipe of it) followed by the best fish and chips I'veever had. Just a pity I was too stuffed for dessert. I really don't know to much about wine, but the sommelier just nailed to serve a tremendous Riesling, that was just perfectly linked to compliment the meal. So to everyone like me: trust the recommendation. Hope to be back soon.

It was our first time at the Savoy . We booked as a celebration for one of our friends . Unfortunately this was not acknowledged at all by any of the staff. Anyway that aside the place was fantastic . The food was amazing although I've had better and bigger mussels from my local supermarket and would have expected better given we were eating at the river restaurant. The sauce on the mussels was beautiful but let down by the main element of the dish . The treacle cured pork chop was out of this world . Pricey but that's what you pay for the experience . Would I go back ? Possibly not . I hope to visit the Grill soon so hope that meets my expectations.

We have eaten here twice in just under 12 months. Without going in to too much detail, this second visit helped redeem itself a little in our eyes, but we still wouldn't rate the place more than 'average' at best. We've had two sets of family eat here recently too and they feel the same, so it's not just us. This time I had the prawn cocktail to start, which had a super overpowering hot sauce, so much so that I left half of it and the fish and chips for main. Honestly? Our local chippy is better IMO. The service was much better this time round. One of my biggest frustrations is the dress code - it is not policed in the slightest. During our two visits we've seen shorts with flip flops, jogging bottoms, loads of trainers, baseball hats... You name it. But it's obvious than in some of these cases... Money talks. We can say we've done it now, but we won't be going again. We have had far more satisfying, much cheaper meals elsewhere in London.

I celebrated a birthday at the River Restaurant with a couple of friends and we all thought it was very average. Firstly, the positives, our waitress was first class, I forgot her name but I know she was from Moldavia, she took time and care to explain about the food etc. We ordered oysters to start, which were good. Next, and maybe this is where we went wrong, we ordered the beef wellington as one of my friends had read it was a classic of theirs albeit, it is a fish restaurant. We ordered a glass of red to accompany the wellington that the sommelier had recommended. The wellington came with the extra side dishes we had ordered, all of which at best were warm, not hot and there was no sign of the red. It finally turned up when we had all finished our dinner, at £27 per glass it really would have been nice to enjoy it with our meal. The response from the sommelier was ‘oh sorry’. For a restaurant of this calibre I would expect the food to be hot and my wine to accompany my food but alas it wasn’t to be. The dessert was good but we were sadly all very underwhelmed and wouldn’t rush back. ****update**** Even the response is poor! Who is Julie C?

Terrible experience cancelling our reservation. 48 hour policy or not, I cancelled my booking for 6 as my guests had decided not to fly to the UK last minute. I gave 30 hours notice, and to be charged £150 - the full cancellation fee, with no reduction or apology is just short-sighted. I’m not questioning the need for such a fee in principle, but over one day’s notice could perhaps result in a little leniency. And if the table does get booked, of course the restaurant keeps the £150. At least I did the decent thing and wasn’t a no show, but why even bother doing that in the future?

Food was very average My wife and I had the prawn cocktail for starters that consisted of a large bowl of lettuce and tomato with a few shrimps and 1 large prawn covered in a thousand island dressing. My wife had the 1/2 Lobster for main it must have been the smallest Lobster at the market and at a princely price of £48.00 whilst I had a very overcooked fish and chips with peas. I have had better at my local fish and chip shop. Instead of Gordon telling other restaurants how to up there game he should look at what’s happening in his own establishments. Will not be returning to any of his restaurants

I think Gordon Ramsey needs to pay a visit to his restaurant.......We had a long wait for starters. For mains three of us ordered fish pie which was disappointing and claggy also full of peas and not much fish. We were asked to move table to the balcony before our pudding as a bigger table was arriving and they needed our table. The special birthday person in our party of six was hastily given a very small tart with an even smaller chocolate so not much effort although I had asked for a special acknowledgement of it beforehand. To top it all the waitress mentioned that she would appreciate cash (as a tip) although we had already paid our bill which included a 15 percent service charge which I assumed covered her tip. Would sadly be reluctant to return.
