Upon arrival there is NO safe way in or out. The ground isn't maintained and ruts as big as my tires meant I couldn't go any further due to a disabled passenger. I was originally offered a way out instead of an alternative parking space.. Once I had expressed I'd been trying to come here for 3 weeks and "you're showing me the way out", I was offered alternative parking. The alternative parking was NOT an option. Everywhere on this land puts everyone at risk. There is only one way in and one way out, should there be any sort of emergency no one would get out. It's a health and safe risk. Land in the "public walking" areas is again unsuitable for small children or those who have difficulty on unlevel ground. The level of differences in ground is more than double the height of kerbs in many places and lots of broken up ground. Somewhere I really wanted to take my small children, but due to their safety being my priority we left. I couldn't tell you what the whole place is like, this is just observation on entrance as far as my eyes could see and exit.

Lots of pigs......chickens running around.....a cafe....obviously doing really good work there.....what knocked stars off for me is the amount of rats there were. They had hand washing facilities and antibacterial hand gel in the bathroom too. With toddlers though I was just really paranoid. If I had known before I went I would've waited until the kids were older to take them when they understood more not to drink puddle water hahaha. Joking....kinda haha. I put all the kids in the shower when I got home.

Such a wonderful place and great afternoon out. We had a lovely walk around seeing all of the animals. There's a charity shop, vegan food shop and cafe. The food in the cafe is always delicious and staff at the retreat are all really friendly. Everyone I know who's visited the retreat has spoken very highly of it, I would 100% recommend going if you haven't already!
