Wow this place changed my life. I came here in a complete mess. The staff are amazing looked after me 100%. I did 28 days which 10 of those days was a detox. I cant thought the Lodge at all. From the therapy sessions to the 1 to 1s it was all fantastic. I actually miss the homely feel of the Lodge. Thanks to Donna and Jamie for making it possible.

Firstly, I thought I had left a message/rating when I left the lodge 6 years but turns out I hadn't. Secondly, after reading through the reviews, I am gob smacked that some people left 1 star rating. They obviously wasn't ready to stop their drinking/druguse and didn't open up to the whole recovery phase. Thirdly and lastly to my review. I can honestly say that the lodge saved my life. Without the help of everyone who worked there I probably wouldn't be around today or if I was I wouldn't have my wife and oldest boy in my life. Everyone who works there are so kind and caring and the lodge has such a lovely energy. I want to say thankyou to everyone who helped me get to where I am today, which is the happiest and most grateful place I have ever been. Special thank you to Jamie, Donna, Dennis and Jules.

THE RECOVERY LODGE IS A LIFE CHANGER & SAVER. My wife booked me into the lodge for 4 weeks, after decades of battling addiction to alcohol. From the moment I arrived it felt like I had finally found a place that could help and understand me. All of the staff & therapists are second to none and and the daily programme offered gives you a deep insight into the condition and underpins that you are not alone on your journey. You leave the Lodge not only with a strong support network but also with the right tools that if used correctly on a daily basis should help avoid future relapses and provide you with a happy, prosperous, content and sober life just by sticking with the programme. If like me you have found yourself spiralling out of control due to your addiction and you are committed to make a change for the better, then chances are the Lodge is for you.

I attended the recovery lodge in July 2022 for cocaine addiction and there was immediately a sense of calmness around the place. Having just 6 people there at a time makes it feel more personal and a lovely size to get to know one another, and as well as we were there for ourselves, we became close and were there to help one another throughout our stay. All the staff were fantastic and made me feel at home straight away and the owners also had a lot of influence over my time there and my long term recovery with in house therapy. Being such a small group of people made it the right environment to all get our own individual tine in individual and group therapy sessions, as did the 12 step programme. The 12 steps was something I was very sceptical about initially, but the staff who are all so knowledgeable and most are also recovering themselves from addiction of one type or another, made it plain to see that this approach does work and I’ve now seen for myself that I’m also on the road to recovery and a great believer in the 12 step programme and it’s helping me everyday. Everyone I met through the Lodge I’m still in contact with and hopefully will become long life friends and supportive to one another’s recovery The lodge being a house makes it feel home from home and everything is their that we would need or want like in our own homes and the balance between therapy and our own time was perfect This gave us time to be on our own in our own rooms and together as a group And other activities were available As it was summer we spent most time outside in the garden which was the nicest most relaxing area for me and I enjoyed my time there relaxing in the warm evenings. All staff are all very approachable at all times and will bend over backwards to talk to you and help you whenever you need a chat or feeling low, especially being away from our families for a Month this was very comforting and it didnt matter what time of day they were always there for us. I would highly recommend the Recovery Lodge to everyone and anyone who needs help with any addiction they are all covered at the lodge Now I have left 6 weeks on I’m still clean and sober which I could never imagine I would before entering therapy and approaching my 3 months now and I can still attend 4 days after care back to the lodge whenever I want to and can always speak to them if I need any advise I continue doing well and my family have also so thankful as they have literally saved my life and following the s12 step program and they have provided me with invaluable tools to help me back to recovery and to continue and I will always be incredibly thankful to the Recovery lodge and it’s staff Thank all so much x

Where to start, This family run Rehabilitation lodge in itself is a true example of what recovery is all about. All the staff have had the own experiences in recovery making the them understanding and approachable. I have been suffering with addiction for many years. Going into a rehab was a very big step and decision for me so through research and lots of reffals. I made the choice to check into the Lodge . I have since been realeased and wanted to share my experience., the atmosphere that they have created and the through therapy , group therapy, family therapy all complimenting each other this gave me the assurance in a solid foundation for my long road to recovery. Just for today I feel rehabilitated and I'm ready for what the day has to offer. Thank you all so much I'll forever rember my time at the Lodge

I went into the Lodge to break the habitual daily cycle of drinking and taking drugs, I hadn’t even thought that I had a problem with addiction. After two days talking to like minded people and therapists I realised that I had more of a problem with addiction than most do and had had it nearly all my life. They showed me a different way to live my life on a daily basis if I followed a few suggestions, after a week or so I was experiencing calmness that I don’t think I’ve ever experienced. I’m 62 days clean and sober. I have a sponsor and many good new friends in two fellowships, I am learning everyday to cope with life on life’s terms. I would not have considered any of this if I hadn’t gone to the Lodge first.

I was here the beginning of last year. This place gave me a good base for my recovery and knowledge of what recovery was. And the pause in life that I needed. The staff are very caring I was an anxious mess and very lost when I turned up i had no idea what was going on but I left feeling a bit more like my old self. Obviously these things take time. The therapy was amazing. It’s all very confusing at the beginning when you have no idea what recovery is but after a while it all makes sense. I relapsed when I came out due to my own doubts of whether I could drink again or not and dealing with a bereavement. But I’m now a year and a month sober. And I doubt that I would of been here without the help of the lodge. I also met some amazing people that I’m still friends with now.

I went to the Recovery Lodge in 2017 after decades of struggling with mental health and addiction issues. The care I received there was second to none and the environment was very friendly and welcoming. I was taught about how addiction worked and was given very comprehensive counselling to help with trauma I had encountered earlier in my life. Little did I know the trauma was the cause of the addiction. After 20 years of struggling with my problems the last 5 and half years have been by far the happiest of my life and I now live a content, clean and sober life. I have the recovery lodge and the counsellors there to thank for this and I'm still in regular contact with all at the Lodge. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
