Attended a family birthday party, firstly the manager called and said it couldn't be on the day booked so family had to book it for the day before....then the party organiser received a call advising kids had to be careful with drinks (it is advertised as a family pub and has a play area in the garden) on the night guests at the party felt uncomfortable by the manager (other staff however were very hospitable). Friends I had at another party on the same evening said the manager was quite rude. Food was very good although wasn't a varied selection (ok if you like squid, veg spring rolls, veg won ton and prawn in filo pastry... chips and an abundance of thai prawn crackers) considering a hire fee was charged on top of the food fee and party organiser wasn't allowed to cater for the party. Selection of lagers wasn't great either for the less premium lager drinkers. Lovely setting....just a shame senior staff were quite rude to a party who were there quite a while and therefore spending alot of money over the bar.
