Unfortunately for us, our experience was far from ideal. Having bought and paid in full a dress that my daughter chose on the 10th of April (2022), and after reassurances not to worry as the shop had a seamstress and there was still time, the dress only turned up at the end of June! We knew (and the lady from the shop knew) that the length of the dress needed adjusting (all the rest fitted very well). We went to the shop on the 29th of June, my daughter's birthday, and a young girl marked the dress for adjustment only to be then told that the seamstress did not have enough time to do the adjustment for Prom on the 4th of July. They then told us to go to a shop in Leamington and gave us less than 15 minutes to get there; the lady in Leamington agreed to do the alteration for £80 plus £4 urgency fee on top - and gave us 5 minutes to get cash to pay as she wanted to close the shop at lunchtime. When my daughter collected the dress, it was all creased - apparently we should have paid more to have it steamed, but we did not know this! Anyway, we felt let down by the Prom Shop - they reassured us that all could be done in the shop and we paid for a new dress for peace of mind, and ended up having a really stressful time. So if you know that your dress might need some alterations, be aware that on busy times, the Prom Shop might let you down and things can get very stressful as they keep accepting more clients; the seamstress said that they had 13 dresses in their books after my daughter's. I saw another client at the shop, that was collecting her dress after having it adjusted and steamed, looking great, ready for Prom - unfortunately this was not our case! An expensive experience that sadly was far from what we expected. Just to add after our first review - I had taken a day off to spend some quality time on my daughter's 16th birthday (an important occasion, of course) and our day did not go as planned due to having to rush to Leamington with the dress to try to get the alterations done by someone that was not really keen on doing that job (as not involved in the sale of the dress). Finally after some days, the alterations were made and the dress was collected from Leamington by my partner. I appreciate that you told us that we could go back to have the dress steamed at your shop (although you also said that maybe the seamstress would do this after the alterations), but I was away at a work conference abroad, my partner had work that he could not leave and my daughter was doing work experience, so could not take time off - we had already spent a lot of time on this dress and going back to the shop would involve taking more time off. I understand that these were unprecedented times for you and I think we were extremely unlucky as the service we received was not up to our expectation - my daughter's birthday was far for perfect and the Prom day had added stress.
