Excellent for and friendly service. The room had lots of space around the tables which is key for many people (kids, wheelchairs, pushchairs). We had a lovely time there

Terrible food and poor service . Nice location and premises. I'd bring a lunch bag instead and just buy drinks here.

I only ever review if it was great or terrible. Sadly this has to be the worst Sunday roast I have ever been served anywhere. Potatoes and veg seemed to have first been burnt then boiled for a week. Yorkshire pudding - when you tried to cut it, it literally snapped it was so burnt. The meat was ok but for £22 would expect a pretty amazing Sunday dinner. Prime and the King Harry both cheaper and about 50 times better. Complained within a few minutes of it being served they just smiled and walked off. Needless to say I don't expect to retun! I struggle to understand why this place has such great reviews, I will put less faith in them next time!

I’m very surprised to see quite a few good reviews as my family had an awful experience on Sunday 21/05/23. Staff very uninterested and minimal effort made by them. Waited about 30 mins for mains, checked with waitress who went to find out and then proceeded to ignore us for 15 mins. Asked for new cutlery after finishing starter, forgotten twice. At the end they brought our small kids ice cream with no spoons, asked for spoons and were given tablespoons. I mean come on- Basic stuff. The menu is a little on the expensive side so service really needs to be better. The place clearly needs a proper manager as nobody seemed to be taking charge at all. I know it’s hard to get staff nowadays but it was so disappointing. Food was also extremely average when it eventually came, I’m sure this isn’t always the case, I think they actually totally forgot the mains and rushed them. Won’t be returning. Such a shame as the garden and location is stunning.

Part of the Brunning & Price group with all the goodness that entails. i.e. good food, friendly (though occasionally undertrained) service, lovely decor, reasonable prices, interesting menu (food & wine) and a tractor in the large garden.
