No gluten free food, everything has at least cross contamination. Obviously that's The Pond's choice, but staff are not aware of this so it involves a long conversation going through the menu only to find that there is nothing you can eat. Other's in my group that aren't gluten intolerant found the food excellent.

Popped in for lunch and a drink on a Saturday - booking is essential if you want a table, we arrived as walk-ins pretty much as soon as the place opened and within about 15 minutes it was at full capacity!! The Pond is a groovy and inviting pub with its own delicious pale ale (Pond Water) and bao buns to die for. There is a good selection of other beers on tap, but Pond Water is exceptionally good and worth a try - the beers can also be served in quirky 2/3rd pints which feels like the perfect amount to me!! The service was quick and friendly, and the food was at our table minutes after ordering. I really enjoyed the mushroom bulgogi bao bun, and tried some other sharers and sides too - the fried mushrooms and loaded chips were excellent, however the kimchi I ordered was almost unbearably salty and I had to leave most of it. If it wasn’t for the disappointing kimchi, this would easily be a 5-star review!! ✨

One of the best pubs in Brighton with the best food in the city. Hands down. This is my favourite place. But it's also everyone else's favourite. It can be very busy and hard to get a table to eat. But it's worth waiting and loitering for a table to come available. The food from the fabulous guys at Baby Bao is incredible. Delicious, different yet still a reasonable price! The craft beer and cider selection is fantastic. I'm especially happy that they have my favourite ciders from Ascension Brewery. Vegetarian options: Vegan prawn bao, mushroom bap, pumpkin bap, corn ribblets, kimchi fries
