Ever fancied a get away from it all? Do you want pampering and being well fed? Well the pig at bridge near Canterbury is a great escape. Rooms are relaxing and you are looked after and guided through thre day when even doing nothing feels like too much. Food was sublime being locally sourced and wonderfully cooked and presented. You'll bre well fed! On our overnight stay we had deviled liver and bacon for dinner and shared turbot for lunch next day. I cannot find the words to describe the exquisite tastes and textures these dishes provided. All I can say is that you have to sample these dishes yourself in order to understand their delights. In a word relax and enjoy! Oh that's two. Never mind.

A superb meal in a beautiful location. The restaurant itself is cosy and informal and the staff are attentive and friendly, The food is expensive, but well worth it. It all comes from within a 25 mile radius, with much of it sourced from its own gardens (which you can walk around and are lovely). I had the tomahawk pork, which had a great mustard jus and a chocolate terrine for pudding. You do need to buy side dishes separately which adds an expense, but again the chips and potatoes were cooked to perfection. The building itself is 17th century and full of character and all adds to the occasion. Starters are about £13 and mains about £30.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay and dinner at The PIG at Bridge Place to celebrate our wedding. The service from all staff was nothing short of exemplary, from upgrading our room, offering complimentary drinks, passing on congratulations and giving us a print out recipe of the (truly delicious) cookies! Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay. The rooms are luxurious and the food is very tasty!
