Rooms: We stayed here specifically because of the family room option - you can stay in a double bedroom with en suite WC for the parents and an ajoined twin room for up to 2 children (or other adults) which has a full ensuite bathroom with a shower. Rooms are very well decorated and have all mod cons including a brand-make air conditioner with remote control (Fujitsu), TVs, minibar fridge and lots of complimentary tea and coffee with liquid non-UHT milk. Good WiFi connection. Beds were very comfortable. Nearby activities: Short 30-40 min drive to attractions such as Avebury stone circle and Stone Henge Gentle scenic canal walk in Devizes nearby. 15th century street viewable just around corner from hotel. Walkability: Located close to large long stay car park. Right in Devizes town centre. Food & drinks: Excellent dinner menu, making choices was difficult. Very pleasant, bright restaurant with lots of space.

Came for dinner, left very happy. Food was absolutely stunning, everyone's was cooked to perfection, well presented and the quality of the meat & sauces was just next level. Especially the Guinea Fowl, which I had. I can't wait to come back to try some of the other dishes. Service on the other hand was slow and inconsistent - the staff were absolutely lovely but potentially there were not enough front of house to service all of the customers as plate collection was fairly slow and we did have to wait on drinks. Really think this is a numbers issue though as your staff seemed very busy all night and I could see other tables getting frustrated too. Although we didn't ask for it, there was no water for the table either, which I think would be a nice touch. All round fantastic though and would definitely come back.

Had an event here at the weekend with 16 guests. Some of which had afternoon tea, some had the lunch menu. All food was ordered and paid for two weeks prior to the date to ensure they had plenty of time to prepare for dietary changes that people would need, I.e no fish, gluten free, however on the day this seemed to go very wrong and cause so much of an issue that the food coming out took so long that some people had finished before others had started. The afternoon tea was not good value for money, £25 for three small fingers of sandwiches that wouldn’t even make a full sandwich, two scones and three very miniature cakes. It’s advertised that you will be able to choose from a variety of drinks from their menu, which we were never given or offered. Upon trying to speak to the manager regarding the issues with the food it was made out to be my fault and that I had told them we didn’t want certain things, which was not true, and quite frankly was met with attitude and arrogance and sense of good customer service. We were situated upstairs which was nice to be in a private room, I was offered to have the upstairs bar open for guests to which I said yes, however it was not staffed. It very much seemed that we were out of sight, out of mind and I wish I never pre paid for the food as myself and many of my guests wouldn’t have paid full price for what we were given. Overall - bad value for money, poor service and ultimately extremely disappointed.
