My first stay in a British seaside town was here last July. Only gripe I had was the fact that it didn't have the best connection via public transport but what a charming little hotel! Views- superb, breakfast great, the shower was spacious! On a summer day this is a lovely hotel to have a short staycation. Rooms : 4/5 | Service : 5/5 | Location : 5/5 … More

Had a very pleasant stay here. The location is good with the sea nearby. My room had a lovely seaview. There is a large carpark attached to the hotel which is free to hotel guests but you must register your car registration when booking in. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were aĺl welcoming, friendly and helpful. I was given gluten free toast when I requested it. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable but not particularly spacious. There is a key card system which you must use to access the corridor on your floor as well as your room. Obviously this is done for security purposes but it does mean that if you have friends or family on another floor you won't be able to access their floor. The Sir Stanley Grey pub across the road forms part of the hotel and can be accessed by using the hotel lift to go down to connecting corridors under the road.

Funny enough, my partner booked this hotel by accident before checking how far the walking distance it is to the beach. But turned out it was a great choice and made our stay special! The walk to the main beach via the promenade was beautiful and very relaxing. The hotel could look a bit dated from the first glance, but it was in fact clean and well looked after! The shower was very strong and new. Towels and beddings were of great quality. The shower kit products smelled Devine!!!!!! I actually googled the brand after we left. No chips or marks on any furniture. The room was not big but in a good size, it was facing partly towards the cliff and partly towards the hill where you could see the horses reside. The only down sides were no mini fridge and no fan for the hotter days. The lift in the hotel would take you down to the -1 where there is a short corridor leading you to the restaurant for breakfast. It was table service, the instructions could have been more clear though, we were left there clueless after we gave our room number. We both had egg Benedict which was great and in good portion! Although there wasn’t any garnishing but they taste amazing! I love the fact that they use prosciutto instead of bacon! The terrace outside of the restaurant is lovely with a beautiful view. the cliff next to it blocks most of the wind which makes it more pleasant to stay outside. Don’t miss out the paintings and old photographs next to the lift, they show how the corner of the road / cliff used to be busy with shops. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We could see why this place was fully booked! If we ever come back to Ramsgate we would definitely stay there again, especially knowing there are tunnels to explore by the cliff which we have missed.

Lovely staff, excellent service, so friendly & the food in this restaurant was really nice + also excellent service. Highly recommended. Reason for 4 star regarding room was because we found it rather warm in the room, like all hotel windows only open a little. Air conditioning would definitely help.
