My husband and I had a special reason to visit Burley in Wharfedale and attended the church service before visiting the site of where my father, along with 20 other young Canadian soldiers was killed in a tragic accident opposite St Mary's. In spite of Covid restrictions we were made very welcome in this beautiful church: the service was very meaningful and we were delighted to meet Margaret a church member who helped us to find the memorial Plaque bearing my father's name and then kindly offered us coffee. We very much look forward to coming back to this beautiful place.
