I have always admired the Panama Hat, but have never really been a hat person. Recently, two colleagues of mine were diagnosed with melanomas on the scalp, so that made me think about the sun since I was caught a bit last year. I knew exacly what I wanted and a quick search found The Hat Company Website - clearly laid out with a great choice of the genuine article. Having made my choice on late Friday afternoon, it arrived on Monday before 9am. Well packed and the hat even comes with its' own carry bag - fantastic! The hat fits like a glove and is just what I was looking for, with genuine style and panache built with that quality hand made feel. I have seen another style I like too, so maybe one day I will invest in another.

I purchased a Panama hat in lock down Always kept in the bag I have only wore twice as unable to travel I took it out the other day very brittle and spilt I telephoned and emailed No reply had to contact again To be told M & S would only guarantee there products for a year Panama hats states a hat to last you a life time very disappointed with there customer service 😢

I purchased a hat from the Panama Hat Company in June after weeks of searching in the UK and even spending time looking in Malaga and Alicante during 2 trips to Spain to find the perfect panama hat. I found a couple at 500euro that I liked, except for the price, and others where I liked the price around 240 euro, but not the fit or weave quality. (My folding Olney from maybe 15 years ago long since stopped looking good, despite care, and to be honest I really coveted something with a much finer weave that still managed to come in at under my maximum price of £300.) And I bought the perfect hat here, from The Panama Hat Company (hereinafter to be renamed by me as The PERFECT Hat Company.) The weave of the hat is just what I was looking for at a VERY reasonable price (£240) and, despite my anxieties about fit with a product purchased online, it could not fit better. Literally!! The thing I liked most was that I was able to talk directly to the (one of?) the proprietor and have a chat about what kind of thing I was looking for, sizing, the way I liked to wear it, weave quality etc. it was useful to me, and maybe to them, that I'd done homework about different weaves, quality ratings etc. I was offered 3 hats in a range of qualities within my budget range that could be made up to fit. And, interestingly, the highest price was below the maximum I had said I was prepared to pay. That would never happen with most companies. And most off the peg stores in the UK selling panamas - I speak from experience - have the most cavalier acquaintance with sizing and often offer no more than broad size categories. I cannot rate this company highly enough and really recommend them, especially advising making telephone contact. I wish I had more heads to buy panamas for so I could justify using them again! Steve
